I consulted about my concern about pores and the doctor recommended PRP treatment. I have had two sessions so far, and I am personally satisfied because my pore size has reduced a bit and blackheads have decreased. Since it was my first time visiting a dermatologist in India, I was worried and sought consultations from various places. However, the doctor here was the most thorough in examining my condition, and the facility is very pleasant.

FAQs

Frequently Asked
Questions

HOW DOES PRP WORK?

PRP triggers the body's inflammatory response, aiding in healing and promoting healthy cell turnover. This technique utilizes the client's own plasma, along with growth factors, to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Injected into the mid to deep dermis layer of the skin, PRP employs a technique similar to various cosmetic filler treatments.

WHAT ALL AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH PRP?

At URSA Skin & Aesthetics we treat Face, Periorbital area (above & below), Neck, Back of the hands and Decolletage areas.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS I REQUIRE?

The frequency of treatments will vary based on the skin's health and age. For optimal results, it's advised to undergo a minimum of 6 sessions spaced at 4-6 week intervals. Afterward, one maintenance treatment every 3 to 6 months is recommended to sustain lasting results. To maximize effectiveness, clients are encouraged to complement the treatment with other skin modalities and prescribed skincare.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME WITH THIS TREATMENT?

Since PRP treatment is minimally invasive, downtime is typically minimal or non-existent, allowing patients to resume their daily activities promptly.Potential side effects may include pain at the injection site, along with irritation, redness, and swelling. However, these sensitivities usually subside within one or two days. The swelling indicates the success of the therapy and is part of the healing process. For patients prone to bruising, applying ice can alleviate discomfort from any darker or purple marks that may appear.

AfterCare

Proper aftercare for a PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) facelift is essential for optimizing results and minimizing complications. Here are some general guidelines:Immediate Aftercare:
  • Avoid touching or massaging the treated area: This can cause the PRP to shift.
  • Apply ice: This can help reduce swelling and bruising.
  • Sleep on your back: This can help prevent the PRP from shifting.
  • Avoid strenuous activity: This can increase blood flow and potentially lead to bruising.
Subsequent Days:
  • Avoid excessive facial expressions: This can cause the PRP to shift.
  • Don't use harsh facial cleansers or exfoliants: These can irritate the skin.
  • Follow your provider's specific instructions: Your provider may have additional recommendations based on the areas treated and your individual medical history.
When to Contact Your Provider:
  • Severe pain or discomfort
  • Excessive swelling or bruising
  • Signs of infection (e.g., redness, warmth, pus)
  • Changes in facial appearance (e.g., asymmetry, drooping)

Also known as Vampire Lift, PRP (Plasma Rich Platelet) is a procedure in which blood is taken and separated from different constituents, and the plasma is re-injected on the face. This non-invasive cosmetic procedure helps in improving the skin tone and texture, giving you youthful looking skin. The use of Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy has gained heavy popularity in recent years.

The growth factors released from the concentrated platelets activate resident stem cells and dormant skin cells. This stimulates new collagen and hyaluronic acid production and epithelial cell growth, resulting in a dramatic improvement in skin health and appearance. Because your own plasma is used, there is no danger of disease transmission or allergic reaction. However, there is a possibility of the skin getting red for a day, but that normalizes soon.

Your skin texture will respond as new tissue cells grow, and visible results may take 3-6 weeks and continue for up to 6 months. Results will depend upon your overall health status, age, dietary variations, whether you smoke, and other health factors, including your unique skin type.

How it Works?

The nurse withdraws 50-60ml of blood from your arm. The blood is placed into the PRP Centrifugal machine system. Much like a centrifuge, it separates the blood, differentiating the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from other particles of the blood. Topical anesthetic is applied to your face and the PRP is injected into predetermined sites. You can leave the clinic and continue with your normal activities almost immediately.
